Polyoxin D zinc salt

Peptidyl pyrimidine nucleoside (polyoxin); FRAC Group 19, chitin synthase inhibitor in cell wall biosynthesis, rated medium resistance risk.[2]

Polyoxin D zinc salt is a fungicide that FRAC places in Group 19, the polyoxins, which inhibit chitin synthase in the fungal cell wall. Affirm WDG contains 11.3% of it and is labeled for turf, including residential lawns, and for ornamentals in landscapes and nurseries.[1][2]

Affirm WDG (alternate brand of Endorse Water Dispersible Granules): Caution[1]

A professional product

The Affirm WDG sublabel states it is not for food use and not for homeowner use. Lawn care and landscape professionals apply it to residential lawns and landscapes.[1]

Some disease claims marked on the label, such as the aids-in-control turf diseases, are not for use in California, and chemigation on turf and ornamentals is banned there.[1]

Where it is used

Apply before disease develops or when weather favors it. Turf sprays work best right after mowing.[1]

Except for fairy ring treatments, don't irrigate for 12 hours after spraying turf, because rain or watering soon after cuts disease control.[1]

Alternate with fungicides that have a different mode of action, and don't make back-to-back Group 19 sprays beyond the label's limits.[1]

Several turf diseases, including red thread and snow molds, are listed as aided in control. Gray leaf spot is aided in suppression only.[1]
